One of the most exciting and unique restaurants in Kilifi, Kenya – The Twisted Fig is a new al fresco culinary experience set in the heart of the renowned destination festival grounds of Beneath The Baobabs.
Serving courses to warm the heart and glasses to feed the soul, set alongside our Baobab Deck at the head of the Takaungu Creek; Starlit Dinners, Long Lunches, Sunday Brunches, Blues BBQs, Live Music and Kilifi’s best DJs will combine to provide a unique cultural experience throughout the year.
Our chefs will be serving a delicious menu of locally sourced seafood, Up-Country meat, and fresh vegetarian selections, designed to bring people together and put a smile on their faces. Expect a mix of Naughty, Healthy, Colorful & Not-so-common-at-the-coast Dishes
As the heart of our festival grounds, you can come to The Twisted Fig to join our movement of year round festival culture in Kilifi.

How To Get Here
Head towards Mombasa from Kilifi, past Komaza and past the Mandharini turning (Our old entrance), keep going 800 meters on the highway and you will see a Beneath the Baobabs / Twisted Fig sign on the left opposite Mnarani Secondary School
Go down the murram road 700m until you see an arrow pointing left, follow this road up the hill and follow around to the right until you enter our site. Keep coming down the road and you will reach the carpark next to our containers.
THE KISIMA STORY
KISIMA first came to be as an added feature to the Beneath the Baobabs Festival in 2018/2019. The KISIMA Mind, Body & Soul area was dedicated to holistic practices, workshops, discussions – all centered around creating space for human connection, creativity and mutual understanding.
A Celebration for Mind, Body and Soul
The KISIMA festival is a transformational experience where we celebrate life and all its wonders and focus on finding balance between Mind, Body & Soul. And then we party to good music!
KISIMA will remain a part of the yearly Beneath the Baobabs Festival. We are excited to truly honour our wellness community with a dedicated festival as well!
SOUL
At Beneath the Baobabs we believe that we are all united as Distant Relatives and our differences in spiritual practice only makes for a richer melting pot of humans!
Today’s world offers secularism and religion as the only two ways we can be as humans. We disagree.
KISIMA Soul is a space where people of all backgrounds and traditions come to connect to their wider consciousness.
We will open up the deeper corners of our tropical oasis for Ceremonies, Sharing Circles, Sound Therapy, Drumming Circles and Rituals, so that you can at once connect with yourself and the collective consciousness, no matter what your beliefs are.
Come to our Soul Workshops to fill your spiritual cup, let go of worldly limitations on what you should and shouldn’t believe and get in touch with your own divinity.

THE HEALING AREA
KISIMA Healing welcomes you to explore the offerings of our amazing Therapists ensconced within the natural environment of Beneath The Baobabs Venue.
The Healing Area offers the opportunity for you to have one on one with some amazing practitioners for some truly indulgent healing with Massage, Acupuncture, Physiotherapy, Trauma release therapy amongst a host of other offerings.
MUSIC, FOOD & FUN
No Festival at Beneath the Baobabs is complete without some straight up entertainment for all! We are excited to build a vendor, bar and performance area for all those revellers looking to connect over the age old traditions of eating, drinking and dancing.
You can expect Super Juices, Artisan Beers, Tropical Smoothies and Healthy Food options to nourish the body and the odd treat for your wild side. We will also be setting up a sound system to keep the vibes real, showcasing some of the best performance talent that Kilifi has to offer.
Bring your inner child to KISIMA let go in our Water Park! Complete with a water slide and shower swings set in nature to add to the general silliness and merriment of the weekend.
Children are more than welcome – there will be places to be creative and join in the festivities!
