Kenyan-based DJ, Lasta, is the alter ego of musician, producer and festival curator Matt Swallow. Lasta promotes and champions the underground and alternative music scene in Kenya.
Lasta is known as a Kenyan-based DJ with extended sets, where he builds the mood from old school soul and funk into disco and deep house, often improvising vocals over instrumental tracks. Lasta’s Backyard Bass sets express his love for global Dancehall, linking British, Jamaican, West and East African contemporary sounds.
